Three giant crows called me outside this morning, screaming from a neighbor's tree. I went out and talked to them over the fence. Pre-coffee so I can't quite remember, but I said something along the lines of, "What the f*** with the noise?" They flew over to my yard, screamed another minute, then soared across rush-hour Bridge Street toward the hilltop park where my daughter plays softball.
They never told me their plan, but they probably had one. Like big humans and apes, unlike small humans and my cat Maudie, crows plan for the future. Really. Go read about it.
